Creep data prediction for aluminium airframe alloys
Constant-stress creep tests have been completed for 2124-T851 at stresses giving creep lives up to 1,000 hours at 423 and 463K. The results were analysed using the theta Projection Concept, which quantifies the variations in creep curve shape with stress and temperature, allowing accurate prediction of stress rupture data for times up to 100,000 hours at 423K.
