New experimental information on the deformation and transformation processes in polycrystalline shape memory alloys can be obtained using in-situ neutron diffraction techniques. This is documented on the selected results of recent systematic neutron diffraction investigations of polycrystalline NiTi alloys transforming in thermal and mechanical cycles.
