Ecomaterial processing for recycling of iron scrap containing impurities
We expect a practical application of the process to utilize the impurities which are difficult to separate. In the present research, new processes were developed to actively utilize the iron scraps which contain copper or aluminum. Intense warm-working technology was applied to the rapidly solidified powders of iron scraps containing copper. Tensile strength and elongation were improved by this technology. Cast iron has larger tolerable quantity of aluminum than steels. The properties of aluminum-alloyed cast iron were investigated in order to utilize the iron scrap containing aluminum. It was found that several properties could be improved by adding aluminum.
