Thermodynamic properties of vanadium silicides II. Standard molar enthalpy of formation Delta H-f(m)0 (298.15 K) and reassessed thermodynamic properties of trivanadium monosilicide (V3Si)
Fluorine bomb combustion calorimetric measurements of the energy of the reaction: V3Si(cr) + (19/2)F-2(g) = 3VF(5)(g) + SiF4(g), have given a value of -(163.3 +/- 6.9) kJ . mol(-1) for the standard molar enthalpy of formation Delta(f)H(m)(0) (V3Si, cr) at T = 298.15 K and p(0) = 101.325 kPa. This result is compared with others from the literature. A table is also given of the reassessed conventional chemical thermodynamic properties of V3Si from T = 298.15 K to T = 1700 K.
