Effect of current density on the magnetic properties of electroplated NiFe layers
NiFe permalloys have been used for making the sensing elements of magnetic sensors. The composition, morphology, and anisotropy of the material have been shown to affect the magnetic properties of the material. In this study, the effects of the plating current density on composition and the magneto-impedance responses of the electroplated NiFe magnetic layers are investigated. The results show that as the plating current density increases, the composition of the plated layer varies, in this way it affects the magnetic properties of the plated layer. It is found that as the plating current increases, the Fe2+ ion concentration in the plating solution should be increased to maintain desired Ni(80%)/Fe(20%) composition.
