Frequency response functions for uncertain nonlinear systems
This paper presents two alternative techniques to the Monte-Carlo approach of assessing the effect of parametric uncertainties upon the higher-order frequency response functions of a nonlinear single degree of freedom system. These techniques are interval and affine analysis and both return conservative bounds on the desired output. The methods are benchmarked against a Monte-Carlo calculation.
