Microstructural aspects in superplasticity of ultrafine-grained SPD alloys
Recent studies have demonstrated that ultrafine-grained alloys processed by severe plastic deformation techniques, i.e., equal channel angular pressing or high pressure torsion, can exhibit enhanced superplacticity at relatively low temperature and/or high strain rates. In this paper we consider microstructural requirements for enhanced superplasticity in SPD materials. The processing guidelines for enhancement of superplastic properties through SPD techniques are also discussed.
