Behaviour of nanocomposite coatings of W-S-N/C system under pin-on-disk testing
In this work, W-S films doped with nitrogen and carbon were characterised by ball-on-disk testing. In order to improve the adhesion of these films, a titanium interlayer was deposited between the film and the substrate. The tribological tests were performed with a normal load of 5 and 10 N and a sliding speed of 0.1 m/s. The analysis of the results permitted to conclude that the best tribological behaviour is observed for the Ti/W18S18C64 coating with 1.25x10(-15) m(3)/(N(.)m) and approximate to 0.2 for the wear and friction coefficients, respectively.
