Influence of the mechanical microtwinning on the plastic behaviour of the AISI 304 stainless steel
A study of the influence of the mechanical microtwinning on the hardening behaviour in tension is performed, by numerical simulation. The activation of twinning and its evolution with deformation is also studied as a function of the type of strain path. This was performed using a numerical home code specifically developed. The program uses a modified Taylor model under different deformation twinning conditions. The numerical results obtained with this code explain some experimental features.
