This document deals with the method of Hot Explosive Pressing (HEP) of metal and ceramic powders and its combination with Self Propagation High Temperature Synthesis (SHS). A new and simple device is described which allows multiple use of HEP. Its usefulness is demonstrated by from their elements either by hot compaction or by SHS followed by hot compaction. For the first time it was possible to obtain samples which directly after consolitation could be machined and mechanically tested.
