Electrooptics of Semidilute Dispersions - Separation of Electrical and Optical Effects
A field intensity scaling method is applied to the electro-optic study of semidilute palygorskite suspensions in the concentration range 0.01-40 g/liter. Since both electric and optical interparticle interactions influence the electrooptic behavior of the dispersions in this interval, the method helps to distinguish between electric and optical origins of the observed peculiarities of the effects. Thus electrooptic parameters sensitive to electric interactions are displayed.
