Experimental study on high speed milling of Ti alloys
The experiments have been carried out for the high speed milling of titanium alloys. Three types of titanium alloys, alpha, beta and alpha+beta titanium alloys were tested in the experiments with two types of millers. The cutting force produced in different types of titanium alloys was compared. The experiment results show that different types of titanium alloys have different performance of miller wear in high speed machining. Tool material and tool geometry have much effects on the miller wear in the high speed milling. Different titanium alloys need different tool material.
