Micellization of Aqueous Cationic Surfactant Solutions at the Micellar Structure Transition Concentration-Based upon the Concept of the Pseudophase Separation
Micellizations of aqueous solutions of cationic alkyltrimethylammonium bromide homologue series, i.e., dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide, tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide, and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, were described based upon the concept of the pseudophase separation. Surfactant parameters (s, y, and theta) were formulated by using our experimental NMR results. We suggest these parameters as the intrinsic properties which may characterize the micellization of aqueous C-n series in water.
