Collision Probabilities in Concentrated Suspensions - 2-Dimensional Case
A two-dimensional model is presented for a randomly moving disk representing a colloidal particle in a concentrated suspension. The probability that it will be intercepted by some neighboring particle is calculated with a random number generation scheme. Neighboring particles are allowed to move freely on an outer circle, without being able to overlap. This work is a first probabilistic attempt at studying rapid coagulation kinetics in concentrated suspensions; future studies will include three-dimensional simulations and interaction forces.
