Optical Observation of the Gas-Liquid Phase-Transition in Near-Critical SF6 Under Reduced Gravity
Optical observations of the gas/liquid phase transition in near-critical SF6 under reduced gravity conditions in space are reported. The gas/liquid configuration is mainly determined by wetting properties. Equilibration is a process of long duration after a phase transition. Reluctant coalescence of bubbles and droplets is attributed to balloelectrical effect.
