Safety hazard and quality of nitro-chalk fertilizers in relation to the product composition and the granulation method
Many inorg. substances (minerals) were added to NH4NO2 to study their effect on its mass loss and decompn. (up to 20% by mass) during thermal gravimetric and differential thermal anal. (up to 400 degrees C). Com. NH4NO2 and NH4NO3 + Ca(NO3)(2) mixts. granulated mech. or by a tower process were studied similarly. Addn. of dolomite and CaCO3 resulted in the highest decreasing the mass loss of NH4NO3. The mech. granulation of the fertilizers was found more efficient than the tower granulation.
