Hot desulfurization of coal gases with Fe-Zn and Zn-Ti oxides-based sorbents
Mixed Zn and Ti or Fe oxides were granulated with clay binders, calcinated at 900 degrees C, analyzed for phase compn., texture and ability to redn., then used as sorbents for removal of H2S from a model gas made by coal gasification at 400-600 degrees C. The Zn-Fe sorbents were active only below 410 degrees C while the Zn-Ti sorbents were active up to 600 degrees C. The addn. of Co and Ni to the sorbents resulted in an increase in their sorption capacity.
