Two blowing agents were used for foaming polylactide by extrusion at 150-218 degrees C (head temp. 155 degrees C) to study their effect on d., tensile strength and cell structure of the foams. The lowest d. (0.47 g/cm(3)) was achieved for azodicarbonamide-contg. polylactide.
