In-situ limitation of emissions of halogens from combustion processes
A review, with 64 refs., of methods used for elimination of halogens and halogen-contg. compds. from waste gases. CH(2)Cl(2)was added to liq. petroleum gas combusted then in lab. fluidized-bed reactor at 820 degrees C. The fluidized bed consisted of quartz sand or hydroxyapatite (HAp). Use of the HAp resulted in substantial decrease in HCl content in the off-gas. Surprisingly, a high increase in CO content in the off-gas was obsd. The content of converted CH(2)Cl(2)was on the same level in both cases.
