Synthesis of conducting poly-ortho-methoxy-aniline films onto an inert support (Plexiglas) and their modification with gold by cementation: Electrocatalytic tests versus oxidation of hydrazine and proton reduction
The suitability of chemical POMA (poly-ortho-methoxy-aniline) deposition onto a non-conducting substrate PL (Plexiglas) and its modification with gold by cementation were described. The reaction of gold cementation onto PL/POMA electrode was found to be under chemical control. Gold microparticles (average size less than 0.5 mu m) dispersed in POMA films provide good electrocatalytic activity towards oxidation of hydrazine and proton reduction in acid aqueous solution. The morphology and identity of the metallic dispersion were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX). (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
