Removing Oil from Oil-in-Water Emulsion Using Electrical Demulsification Method
E-mail:
An attempt was made to remove oil from metal cutting oily wastewater using an electrical demulsification method. In this study, the effect of various parameters on the demulsification of oil-in-water emulsion was studied. The influence of various electrode materials, the polarization of the reactor, applied potential, electrode size, temperature, initial oil concentration, stirring, and pH on the removal rate and energy consumption were investigated. Also, the droplet size of the oil in water was measured. From these experiments, satisfactory results were obtained for the treatment of oily wastewater.
