Analysis of Pressure Fluctuations in Two-phase Vertical Flow in Annulus
E-mail:
The pressure fluctuations of the two-phase, air-water, vertical flow in an annulus were examined for nominal water flow rates of 6.81∼15.89 ㎥/h (cubic meter per hour) and air flow rates of 0∼47.57 standard ㎥/h (standard cubic meter per hour). A power spectral density (PSD) and a probability density function (PDF) analyses of the differential pressure fluctuations in the vertical upward flow case showed that the PDF results were able to characterize three types of flow patterns, namely, bubble, churn, and slug flows at a nominal water flow rate of 6.81㎥/h. At higher water flow rates, only the bubble flow was distinguished.
