Analytical Performance of Differential-Pulse Polarography in the Case of Non-Reversible Simple Reactions
The behaviour of quasi-reversible and irreversible waves for differential pulse polarography (DPP) performed at dropping and static mercury drop electrodes, was studied as a function of the first polarization time, the pulse duration and the potential step amplitude. The experimental results confirm the theoretical predictions and show that for slow reactions a decrease in the first polarization time and an increase in the potential step amplitude yield a real improvement in sensitivity.
