Nucleation in the Electrocrystallization Process Studied by Surface-Enhanced Raman-Spectroscopy
Using a new kind of activation for surface-enhanced Raman (SER) spectroscopy, we have observed a splitting of the broad SER signal of the CN- stretching vibration into a number of separate bands. As a tentative explanation it is assumed that the observed splitting shows the inhomogeneity of the real surface, which could be simulated by a distribution of clusters of different sizes.
