A facile synthesis of nanorods of ZnO/graphene oxide composites with enhanced photocatalytic activity
Graphene oxide (GO)-ZnO nanorods composites were successfully synthesized by a facile room temperature approach using the colloidal coagulation effect. The samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, specific surface area, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) has been investigated in the presence of composites. It is observed that the absorption capacity and photocatalytic effect could be enhanced by adding graphene oxide. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
