Novel synthesis and DC electrical studies of polyindole/poly(vinyl acetate) composite films
Novel one pot synthesis of polyindole/poly( vinyl acetate) composite films was prepared chemically. The monomer indole was polymerized using oxidant cupric chloride. As-synthesized composites were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscope equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The DC conductivity measurements were done through two probe technique. The DC conductivity value was found to be 8.648 x 10(-6) S/cm at 383 K. The transference number measurement shows that ionic conductivity was dominant over electronic conductivity. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
