Set of Methods for Express-Testing of the Anti-Rust Properties of Working Oils and Working/Anti-Rust Oils
A set of methods is proposed for express tests of the anti-rust properties of oils. The methods can be used to conduct a comprehensive study of the behavior of an oil in contact with metals while it is under the influence of the factors which are typically in play during equipment storage and use. This set of methods involves testing the corrosivity of the oil under conditions of thermal aging, elevated temperature, and high humidity, as well as performing comparative tests of the protective properties of the oil in the as-received state and after its oxidation. Synthetic and mineral aviation oils are tested by this set of methods.
