Enzymatic Resolution of Racemic Ibuprofen Esters - Effects of Organic Cosolvents and Temperature
The effects of organic additives on enzymatic hydrolysis of racemic ibuprofen methyl ester were investigated using Candida cylindracea lipase. Several polar solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide, formaldehyde, and formamide were found to enhance the enantioselectivity of the enzyme. The effects of temperature on enzyme selectivity were also examined.
