Characterization of Beauveria-Bassiana, Metarhizium-Anisopliae and Aspergillus-Nidulans Through Electrophoretic Patterns of Their Protein-Fractions
Albumin and globulin-like proteins were extracted and solubilized with sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) and 2-mercaptoethanol from mycelia of Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae and Aspergillus nidulans. Then these proteins which were extracted from the fungi for the first time were applied to SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The content of albumin- and globulin-like fractions varied and this difference was used to distinguish strains and species. The whole banding patterns were examined and compared. Major protein bands were characterized by their molecular weight. The obtained data can be used for the classification and identification of fungi on the taxonomic level of their species.
