A new approach to Bond grindability and work index: dynamic elastic parameters
The Bond work index is widely used to estimate the power required to grind materials. Because of the difficulty in determination of this index, alternatives to the standard method have been developed by many researchers. Elastic parameters can be determined by using static and dynamic methods. As with the standard Bond method, static methods are difficult and prone to computational mistakes. Dynamic methods are easier to use, with fewer test errors. In this study, the effect of elastic parameters on grinding, and the relationship between them, are investigated. The relationships between the Bond method parameters (W-i and G(bg)) and dynamic elastic parameters (G(d), E-d and K-d) are examined. After determination of these relationships, the aim was to find a practical way of determination of Bond grindability and the work index. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
