Supercritical CO2 extraction of flaxseed
Standard (Oliwin variety) and genetically modified (Type 3) flaxseeds were extd. with CO2 under supercrit. conditions (30 MPa, 40 degrees C, 3 h) to sep. oils (yield 19%) and extn. residues analyzed then for chem. compn. as well as for dry matter, ash, protein, fat, crude fiber contents. In particular the contents of macro and microelements (Ca, Mg, P, K, Na, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cu), fatty acids and amino acids were detd. Some differences between the flaxseed varieties in crude fat, amino acids and Fe contents were obsd. The results agreed with the literature data.
