Maize grown in the presence of a mixt. of herbicides was used as raw material for prodn. of EtOH by fermentation at 30 degrees C. The concn. of EtOH in the corn mash after fermentation was 58.7-63.7 g/L at the process efficiency 81.41-88.2% of theor. The use of herbicides resulted in an increase in EtOH yield.
