Effect of a bioadditive on the antiwear effectiveness of a synthetic lubricant
A synthetic hydrocarbon oil was improved by addn. of a hexane/Me2CO ext. of rapeseed oil residues and studied for lubricating properties in a std. tribol. test. The changes in chem. compn. of the lubricant were followed by IR spectroscopy during the test. The addn. resulted in increasing the friction wear resistance of the lubricated steel surface.
