Facile Synthesis of Pd-ZnO Microhole Composites with Enhanced Photocatalysis and Its Photoluminescence Properties
In this study, hexagonal-like Pd-ZnO micron composites with nanoscale holes were fabricated via a facile solvothermal synthesis, the prepared samples were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, photoluminescence (PL) and UV-Visible spectroscopy, respectively. It showed that Pd-ZnO microhole composites were successfully obtained with high purity and crystallinity. Owing to the strong interfacial interaction between ZnO and Pd nanoparticles, their properties were much improved from the PL and UV spectrum. When the composites were used as catalyst, the dye rhodamine B can be totally degraded within 40 min, which afforded a good synthesis method of Pd-ZnO catalyst.
