Closed-loop PID controller design and performance assessment in the presence of measurement noise
A model, obtained by recently proposed closed-loop process fast identification, is used to design and evaluate performance of parallel PID controller, with a higher-order noise filter, by applying constrained optimization and simulation with estimated band-limited white noise added to controlled variable. On a laboratory thermal plant, with noisy measurements, it is demonstrated that the proposed closed-loop analysis performed by using the model is confirmable on the plant.
