A constraint relationship between hardness and deformation of atomic particles
A model is proposed to describe the change of the hardness and configuration when the atom gained or lost electrons, the interaction potential between two homonuclear atoms is expressed as a function of exchange charges x. A universal value is obtained for many homonuclear diatomic molecules, which show the constraint relations between the deformation and hardness of the atomic particles. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
