Fast Determination of Binary Vapor Liquid Equilibrium of CO2-Based Mixtures at Elevated Pressures
The binary vapor-liquid equilibrium data of CO2 in ethyl butyrate, diethylene glycol diethyl ether, and isobutyl acetate were determined up to 333.15 K and 10 MPa and an improved apparatus based on the static-analytic method has been developed for fast determinations of VLE data. Then, the total pressure P-E, CO2 mole fraction x(1) in liquid-phase, and CO2 mole fraction y(1) in vapor-phase at the equilibrium state were directly obtained by gas chromatography. The experimental data were correlated with a modified Patel-Teja equation of state (PT EOS) combined with the traditional van der Waals one-fluid mixing rules, and it was found that there was a good conformity between experiment and model calculation.
