Quality Improvement of Physical Properties of Leather by Leather Processing Agents
A manufacturing process of steer hide used in a raw material of garment is classified into the five processes based in products : raw hide, pelt, wet blue, crust and finishing leather. A standard sample of collagen fiber about Pelt, Wet blue, Crust and Finishing leather except raw hide is established and only Pelt, Wet blue, Crust and Finishing leather corresponding to the established standard sample is dealt with in the succeeding process. With applying this way of treatment to the treatment of chemical, of enzyme and of Bio-tech, a Quality prediction for the final product come to be possible from data about Pelt, Wet blue, Crust and Finishing leather according to each process. Especially it turns out that a physical property is wholly improved when processing agent and auxiliary processing agent are put in the manufacturing process. Also, results show that more then tensile cutting strength 10Kgf, elongtion 40∼90%, and stitch tear strength 5.OKgf are obtained. These experimental data are satisfied with the physical properties of raw materials of the garment in Korean Industrial Standard.
