A study of highly ordered carbons by use of macroscopic and microscopic Raman spectroscopy
Raman spectra have been used for the structural characterization of high ly ordered carbons. Macroscopic spectra offer the possibility of determining the "average" structural level and its heterogeneity. The maximum level of structural order has been evaluated by microscopic spectra. The distance between two components of the G'-band (in the second order spectrum) was found to be the most sensitive feature towards structural modifications.
