In order to recovery of urokinase in urine solution, the polypropylene(PP) fabrics were modified by the grafting of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate(EPMA) and subsequent chemical modification of epoxy group of poly-EPMA grfaft chains. The grafting of EPMA on PP fabric was carried out by the γ-ray preirradiation grafting technique. Among the various grafting techniques, γ-ray irradiation grafting may be one of the most effective and convenient method for practical application because it is very easy to create active radical sites on the polymer matrix not only surface but also inner side, and to introduce various useful functional groups onto these sites. EPMA-grafted PP fabric was reacted with ammonia and various types amines for different reactions times and temperatures. The adsorption of urokinase for the PP fabrics modified with various amines were examined. Every amination reaction was proceeded rapidly to reach the maximum content of amine. The amination extent in the same reaction condition followed by the order : ethylene diamine(EDA) > 1,4-butane diamine (BDA) > 1,6-hexane diamine (HDA) > 1,8-octane diamine (ODA) > 1,10-decane diamine (DDA) > ammonia. The adsorption of urokinase increased with increasing the content of amino acid group in modified PP fabric surface, and was in the following order : ODA > DDDA > HDA > BDA > EDA > ammonia.
