Photoinduced surface relief grating formation in polymers doped with bis-azodyes
Surface relief gratings were optically induced in a polymer doped with different bis-azobenzene chromophores. Surface grating formation was investigated by using an atomic force microscopy (AFM). The effect of the structure of the chromophores on the surface modulation was investigated. It appears that the molecular migration mechanism is less efficient with the bis-azodyes than with the single ones. This suggests a one-way photoinduced migration process.
