Evaluation of Power Distribution according to the Refining Conditions of Pulp fibres
An important parameter in the production of pulp and paper through refining is the energy consumption. Until recently many pulp and paper mills have still focused on the total energy consumed for the evaluation of refining variations. In many cases, for the purpose of predicting the characterizations of pulp and paper in physical and engineering concepts, a laboratory beating procedure is often considered. In this study, as a basic study for evaluations of refining behaviour, energy consumption and power distribution during refining were investigated, according to refining conditions. Results were obtained that power distribution was closely correlated with some physical properties of fibre and refining conditions, like pulp thickening.
