The effect of pressing conditions and cooling dynamics of rapeseed oil as biofuel on its acid number
Samples of cold (19.5 degrees C) and hot (120 degrees C) pressed rapeseed oils were cooled by atm. air (natural cooling) and by water jacket cylinder (forced cooling) with the registration of the cooling rate. The cooled samples were analyzed for acid nos. The samples of cold pressed oil showed the acid nos. 0.43-0.71 mg/g regardless of the cooling method. The hot pressed oil showed acid nos. 1.12-1.51 mg/g after water cooling or 2.12-2.36 after air cooling.
