Ten sorghum hybrids (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) were studied for applicability in EtOH prodn. under Polish conditions. Fermentable compds. (carbohydrates) and fiber fraction contents were detd. The concn. of sol. carbohydrates ranged from 62.4 g/kg dry mass (Big Kahuna) to 193.4 g/kg dry mass (Monori). Sucrose was the dominant carbohydrate. The hemicelulose content ranged from 183.4 g/kg (Rona1) to 267.1 g/kg (Sweet Caroline).
