Effect of furfural on the enzyme activity during enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose isolated from poplar wood (Populus sp.)
Poplar wood cellulose was enzymatic hydrolyzed to glucose with cellulose in presence of furfural to study the inhibition of the reaction. The addn. of furfural resulted in a significant decrease in the glucose yield.
