Degradation of 2-chlorophenol in aqueous solutions in presence of hydrogen peroxide and various carbon materials
Granular activated C (optionally modified with NH3 or HNO3) as well as C black and multi-walled C nanotubes were used sep. in the 2-chlorophenol (2-CP) removal tests carried out at room temp. for 8 h (i) without H2O2 or (ii) by using 10 or 50 fold H2O2 excess in relation to 2-CP. The highest efficiency (96.1%) was achieved when NH3-modified granular activated C was used at 50 fold H2O2 excess. The addn. of Hp, resulted in an increase of the 2-CP removal for each carbon material.
