Extinguishing the underground coal gasification georeactor in the bituminous coal mine
The georeactor used for underground gasification of coal in a Polish mine was extinguished by cooling with N-2 stream at 22-23 degrees C and then at 1-3 degrees C. To develop a model of the georeactor behaviour, gasification expts. under lab. were carried out. The extinguishing course was followed by chromatog. detn. of CO, ethylene, propylene and acetylene in the gas stream. The decreasing the N-2 stream temp. resulted in an acceleration of the process studied. The extinguishing started in 29th August 2014 at the georeactor temp. 650 degrees C and was completed on 31st January 2015 at the georeactor temp. 49,6 degrees C.
