Costs of carbon dioxide removal from flue gases by adsorptive-membrane separation technique
A hybrid, pressure swing adsorption-membrane process for CO2 capture from 1000 m(3)/h (at std. temp. and pressure) of flue gas stream was developed. Pure CO2 (95%) was fully recovered. A 4-column (diam. 2 m, height 4 m) unit packed with zeolite 13X, and a com. membrane module were used. The total annual prodn. cost and energy consumption (555 kWh/t) were estd. No big differences between the process and other mature CO2-capture technols. were obsd.
