5 V class LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 positive electrode coated with Li3PO4 thin film for all-solid-state batteries using sulfide solid electrolyte
5 V class LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 positive electrode particles were coated with amorphous Li3PO4 thin films by the pulsed laser deposition method. The coating significantly decreased electrode-electrolyte interfacial resistances in all-solid-state cells using Li2S-P2S5 sulfide electrolytes. The cell using Li3PO4-coated LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 successfully operated as a rechargeable battery and showed the reversible capacity of 62 mAh g(-1) at high voltage of 4.7 V vs. Li. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
