Physico-chemical exploration of solution behaviour of some metal perchlorates prevailing in N-methyl formamide with the manifestation of ion solvent consequences
Electrical conductance of lithium perchlorate, sodium perchlorate, potassium perchlorate in pure N-methyl formamide have been measured at 298.15 K. Limiting molar conductance (Lambda(o)), association constants (K-A) and co-sphere diameter (R) for ion-pair formation have been examined by using Fuoss conductance equation. Viscosity B-coefficient, apparent molar volume (phi(V)) and apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (phi(K)) have been achieved from viscosity (eta), density (rho) and speed of sound (c) measurements respectively. The limiting apparent molar volume (phi(0)(V)) and experimental slope (S-V*) have been interpreted in terms of ion-solvent and ion-ion interactions respectively. The viscosity data have been analysed using Jones-Dole equation and derived parameters A and B represent ion-ion and ion-solvent interactions respectively. The c values have been used to determine adiabatic compressibility (beta(S)) and limiting apparent molar adiabatic compressibility (phi(0)(K)). (C) 2015 Published by Elsevier B.V.
